Katie Locke began performing onstage at the age of eight, and was writing her first songs by age twelve. As she hails from a long line of musicians, Ms. Locke has always known she wanted to write and perform original music. She has sung backup for Patti Austin's "BeboperElla" Tour, serenaded Melissa Etheridge, and shared the stage with musical greats such as Livingston Taylor, Susan Tedeschi, and Spencer Davis. In 2005 Katie earned a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Music from the esteemed Berklee College of Music.
Fast-forward to Fall of 2006: after releasing a debut album entitled Works For Me with her band in Boston, Katie moved to NYC to pursue her life-long dream of being a singer/songwriter. There she met guitarist/producer extraordinaire Nick Diaz, who introduced her to drummer Evan Howard. Bryan Ladd was a natural choice on bass since he had played on the first album. Lucas Madrazo was Katie's NYC roommate and songwriting partner. Everyone got together to play, and thus, Bullet Proof Tiger was born!

The group has played at renowned NYC venues such as the Mercury Lounge, Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, Arlene's Grocery, the Cutting Room, Sidewalk Cafe, Spike Hill, Rose, Perch Cafe, Don Hill's, Cafe Vivaldi, Pete's Candy Store, and more. Katie released a second album with the new band, Katie Locke and Bullet Proof Tiger, which has sold well on iTunes and CD Baby. At the CD release in September of 2009, the group played a sold-out show opening for Deadbeat Darling at the Mercury Lounge.

Katie Locke and Bullet Proof Tiger are currently planning an international tour scheduled for the last week of August 2010. The tour will stop in Albany, NY, Burlington, VT, Montreal, Canada and Quebec City, Canada.
